Today I met with my host family for the first time. They are so kind that they even prepared me a big gift--a book, a notebook and a card with their letters. I didn't prepare for this and I found nothing but a Chinese knot and a fan with Chinese traditional painting. Hope they like it.
It was their friend's birthday today, so I bought her a birthday card for her. She accepted it happily and set in on the table. Also, they were interested in the Chinese version of happy birthday I wrote on the card.
After all the guests arrived, the host brought out the food. There were pasta salad, roast steak, fruit salad and home-made hot dog. I was surprised that the food was DELICIOUS. Even better than the food I had at those restaurants around campus. The bread rolled over the hot dog was so soft that they melted in my mouth as soon as I bit it.
We had a little talk after the dinner and the cake. My host family has a 18 month baby girl and she acted like a social butterfly during the chat. I love it when she rised her hands up in the air and shouted "touch down"! yep... we were watching football game after dinner.
When it was the time to go back home. the little girl even gave me a big hug. I was sooo moved~Wish her a good night! Night night~sleep tight~~:)
